collapsed

March 28, 2006 | Uncategorized

…Sorry I’m not updating my blog…I am Officially Collapsed. I seem to be fighting off various infections and viruses and need to spend lots of time lying down either watching Battlestar Galactica or reading I Capture The Castle.

Though last night I watched Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. What a most bodacious film, dude! I’d forgotten how much I loved how Socrates and Billy the Kid become like best buddies, tossing a Nerf ball around the Middle Ages and stuff.

So as you can see there’s no writing going on here but plenty of culture.

Be excellent to each other, and party on, dudes!

I feel a little collapsed myself. I just finished critiquing a 272 page ms for my cp. Great story, loved it, but now I have eye strain and I’m thinking, “what, me, write? Hah!”

It’s been totally too long since I watched Bill & Ted, dude. I, like, so need to rent it.

Ever notice how Keanu always throws a “whoa” in to every movie he’s ever made since B&T? He does…

  2. Biddy says:

You better not be wearing out my copy of Battlestar Galactica… I need Apollo back for inspiration!!

Sorry you are fighting infections (((Miss Julie Cohen Esq)))

  3. Lis says:

    Hope you feel better soon.

  4. Kate Hardy says:

Hope you feel better soon. Are you on Easter Hols yet? If so, this is your cue to scoff LOTS of G&B. But I recommend taking it easy so you’re really full of energy for your launch party…

    (((Hugs))) Feel better soon, hon.

  6. Sharon J says:

Oh no! What am I going to do without my daily dose of Julie? See what a selfish woman I am? Only thinking of myself!

    Get well soon xx

  7. Olga says:

I hope you’ll feel better soon, Julie! Lots of hugs and best wishes!

  8. Julie says:

Thank you, my most excellent friends–Karen, Biddy, Lis, Jaq, Kate, Sharon, Olga.

Did Keanu really throw a “whoa” into Much Ado About Nothing, Karen? Whoa.

    “Hey Ghengis Khan, wanna Twinkie?”

  9. Thinking of you. Get well soon & have a fab launch party.
    Love,
    Mags

    “Geek.”

    (No, not YOU, Ms. Julie!)
Ah, I luuuuurve Bill & Ted. What a fun movie! My friends and I (as all good geeks do) used to quote the movie back and forth at each other, to great amusement.

    Good times.

You take care of yourself, okay, Feckless?

  11. Rhonda says:

    Feel better soon, Julie!!!

  12. Donna says:

Feel better soon, Jules! You’re in great company with Apollo…Biddy’s so generous to part with him! Oh, the sacrifices….

    :-)

  13. Julie says:

“Okay, if you’re us, what number are we thinking?”

Thanks Mags and Kris and Rhonda and Donna. I’ve spent the greater part of the day in bed and feel much better.

Donna I would hate to have to fight you and Biddy for The Bamber. My obsession with Battlestar Galactica is actually Starbuck, because my current heroine is based on her–tough, independent, vulnerable, reckless, mouthy.

  14. Trish Wylie says:

Feel better Julie! Could it be book slashing Karma come to get you???

Hope you’re feeling EXCELLENT really soon!!!

    H’s
    Trish

  15. Ehle says:

Whoa. A couple weeks ago I went through the exact same thing. Except my drug of choice was Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, which is (in my opinion) the superior of the two films. Death quotes Poison! What’s not to love?

  16. Liz Fielding says:

Hope you’re feeling better soon, Julie.

  17. Jill says:

Understand the collapsed feeling all too well. Feel better! I suggest lots of trashy tv and chocolate.
