Hallowe’en

What a day.

I have sold my old car (the 1997 Rover Mini Cooper, boo-hoo), and bought another car (a 2003 Toyota Yaris, hooray), arranged for insurance, tax, and parking, and am now about to collapse on the couch with dinner, my husband and The Omen. And, lots of chocolate. I bought a bagful, in case we got any trick-or-treaters, but so far we’ve only had two, so I’m obligated to eat what’s left, of course.

I meant to start planning my next book, but I’m exhausted. I also meant to post another deleted scene from Spirit Willing–this one on the scary side–but I figure everyone’s had enough of reading excerpts of my work for a few days.

I’m thrilled by how many people have taken up the first page challenge. There’s so much stuff to learn in what’s been posted. Thank you, everyone.

  1. Ooo! A Yaris! Is it as great as I think they are? I am torn between wanting a Yaris and a Honda Fit. I have a certain loyalty to Honda, but for a cheaper price, I can get a fancier, more souped-up Yaris…

Of course, moths are fluttering out of my wallet at the moment, so a new car is a pipe dream, but still…. :)

Hope you had a fun evening with your chocolate!

  2. I love Toyotas. We’ve had three over the years and they’ve all been brilliant (also, I’m sure your back will thank you when you’re doing the whole getting a baby in and out of the car thing!)

  3. I have a Yaris! They are such fab little cars, and very safe and reliable, too. I’ve had mine for about three years now and the only thing that’s ever gone “wrong” with him (yes, it’s a him — Harris the Yaris) is needing a new wiper blade.

  4. OMG Julie….every time I see a Yaris advert, I think of you. I say to myself…”That is a Julie car. TOTALLY.” Now you’ve gone and bought one. I’m LMAO right now.

Thank you for being true to form. :-)

  5. This is why I bought a Yaris–everyone who has one loves them. Mine is bright red, 1.3 litre engine, with a sunroof and alloy wheels. I drove it to Bristol today and it was great.

Is the Yaris ad the one with Terence Stamp narrating it, Donna? I loooooove Terence Stamp. LOL that you thought it was a typical car for me!
