Julie, I'm a newbie to Nora Roberts too. I had free credit at Audible.co.uk and thought I might as well find out what the fuss was about and listened to Skin Deep from the O'Hurley series. Hubby just rolled his eyes when I had my iPod on while cooking and then tidying up. I just couldn't 'put it down'! I had to hunt down the other books in the series and they were just as much of a delight. I am now going through her In Death series where she writes as J.D. Robb. And there are like millions of them!!! :D

Take care and good luck with The Bub :)

Well, I must admit I stayed in bed this morning until I'd finished the Nora book. (Ah, maternity leave....) And some definite tears were shed. I'll read more, for sure.

Congrats on being a granny, Lynne!

Love the trivia, Jude...and yes, it will be awesome to have a new baby for Christmas. :-)

Julie -
I'm so glad you said you hadn't read Nora - because I hadn't either until Beryl Matthews raved about her to me over dinner at the RNA Conference. And ever since...I'm a Nora head!!! Can't get enough.
I highly recommend Sea Swept and whole the Chesapeake Quartet. You fall in love with every single brother as you read - but my favourite remains Cameron! In fact if you squidge your eyes as you read him you can pretend he's David Tennant.
Did you know David's real name is MacDonald but he couldn't get that name for equity because there already was one? I do great boring trivia. Snore...okay I'm gone. Jude x P.S. I keep thinking about you and the baby!!!! Such a brilliant time of year to have a baby.

I've never read any of Nora'ss either, but I'm going to try now! I have to go to the library later. I had my 12 week old grandson here the weekend and he was GORGEOUS! I feel too young to be a granny but never mind. I don't think I found the first few months of having a baby too exhausting, it was when they got to the 9 month stage an kept crawling about and waking up wanting to play at unearthly hours I really got shattered!

I have loads of Nora's on my TBR list. My personal favourites are her Three Sisters Island Trilogy (Dance upon the Air, Heaven and Earth, and Face the Fire). Even my daughter read these and enjoyed them and she (apparently) NEVER reads romances.

I had a two-week old baby here last weekend and managed zero words. Every time I sat down to write, he woke up and demanded attention. Here's hoping your baby will be more considerate :-)

Yes, this is why it's midnight and I'm still awake, downstairs, having a snack. Nora and the baby. I swear it's a conspiracy.

Birthright is one of Nora's best, in my view - I couldn't put it down either. I also recommend Carolina Moon and River's End, and I quite enjoyed Northern Lights. Though I would suggest avoiding Montana Sky - upset me terribly and I had nightmares!!

Enjoy pottering. This is the time to relax and catch up on your sleep. Lots and lots and lots of sleep. (You will thank me for this advice, two weeks after your son arrives :) )

Nora is good. I know of a few writers who've never read her and it always surprises me.

Sorry about the headbutting. That's never any fun...
