one-armed and cranky

Haven’t had the baby yet. I have, however, hurt my right shoulder so I’m effectively a one-armed cranky pregnant woman. A little bit frightening.

I wrote my Romancing the Blog column this morning, because it’s due the same day as my baby (9 Dec) and I want to make sure it’s done. Strangely enough I wrote about being pregnant, because that really is all I can think about. Aside from my damn shoulder. Oh, and Daniel Craig in those swimming trunks.

I’ve been trying to write my book, but it’s not really working, so I’m going to the library to stock up on books and DVDs.

Some good news, though: Sperling & Kupfer in Italy have bought the rights to publish Spirit Willing. So far that’s Holland, France and Italy. I’m really hoping for the USA.

  3. Oh those little blue swimming trunks… Hugs for the shoulder – another reason to abandon normal life and take up residence under a duvet on the sofa. I’m not due for another 7 weeks. *sigh*

  4. Hope that shoulder heals quickly! Lord knows, if I had Daniel Craig in those *gasp* unbelievably, absolutely perfect, little blue trunks (is it hotter in here suddenly?) around to look at all day, I’d work through the pain, baby!

    …Daniel Craaaaaaig….

  6. Um, there was a “drool” in there before I signed by name, but I put it in angles so it didn’t come out. So:

    *droool*

  7. Thanks for the hugs and the drool, Kris, Sela, and Jess.

My husband is actually in the same TV studio as Daniel Craig today. He said he’d invite him round if he got the chance. :-)

  8. Hope you’re not in too much pain. But the rights for Italy should dull it a lot. Congratulations. Hopefully see you on Saturday in Holborn if you’re not busy elsewhere.

  12. Thank you Julie, Kelley, Lis, and Karen. Damn thing isn’t better. But hopefully this will be yet another thing that resolves itself after the baby’s delivered.

I won’t be there on Saturday, Julie–I’m reluctant to go more than half an hour away from the delivery suite–but I’m sure you will have a brilliant time.

  13. Sorry to hear that you won’t be there on Saturday but can fully understand being so very near your time. Hope the big event goes well for you on the day. Good luck!

  14. What an excellent treat those Italian readers have coming! So sorry to hear about the cranky shoulder, I’m sure it will all feel better when you can cuddle baby – not too long now though I’m sure it feels like it! Lynne

  15. Don’t put off doing stuff just because you’re approaching due date – that’s a guaranteed way to go two weeks overdue! Plan as much stuff as you can into these last few weeks or in three weeks time you’ll be absolutely climbing the walls.

  16. Thanks Julie and Lynne.

Kris, you’re right–I am trying to do as much as I can. Thing is, I’m finding that I have a lot less energy than I usually do! I try to plan one thing per day that I will enjoy and/or that will accomplish something major (whereas usually I’d plan four or five). The rest of the day, I get to faff around and relax.

I can’t really do a lot of the stuff I’d like to do, which involves having a brain and/or 30 pounds less load on my feet. But I figure…zen-like clam, right? :-) How are you doing?

  17. Feeling fat and on crutches due to dodgy pelvis, which is a bore. I can relate to the lack of brain too. :)
