Due date has come and gone. I’m feeling pretty good so this would be fine except I can’t think of anything except Baby! Baby! Baby! I think this makes me a rather boring conversationalist, except to my mom, who is nearly as endlessly fascinated as I am.
So I’m whiling away the days, helped along by frequent injections of chocolate and the kind comments of visitors to this blog (thank you). I notice my hit counter is registering around 400 hits a day lately–about double the normal rate–so I guess this means that not everyone is finding me as boring as I find myself.*
I got my author copies of DRIVING HIM WILD yesterday, so that’s one baby that’s arrived in this house.
*Edit: my ever-pragmatic friend Anna suggests that this could be because hordes of net perverts are looking at my pregnant photo for some sort of sexual thrill. At first this grossed me out, but now that I’ve thought about it, WOW! Maybe I’m a big, round sex symbol!

Hey! You’re looking great…as well as great-with-child. Keep taking the chocolate, and watch your step outside, it’s slippery today.
xx
I think I did a good twenty hits yday because I convinced myself you were in labour! Not that you’d have time to update the blog in the midst of it all. Just couldn’t help but click! Today I will concentrate my efforts on ebay and keep my distance. gg jude
Sorry. I’m not a net perv, just interested in if you’ve had this baby yet! I participated in the Maine Writing Project two summers ago when you came to us with strawberries and chocolate and have since checked back to your site periodically. Good luck!
Stopping by to give you BIG hugs! And to tell you my story… my first baby was 10 days late, and I know how you’re feeling.
My darling daughter finally decided to make her appearance on MY birthday even though I was more than happy to give her one of her own!! I’ve not had a birthday of my own for 17 years… (which in retrospect is a good thing, although I wasn’t so sure when I had to share my 21st with a one year old).
Your baby sounds like he has plans of his own too… he’ll let you know when he’s ready.
it just gets more and more exciting every day! It’ll be difficult waiting when there’s no post for a few days. we’ll know where you are and – we’ll all be aching to hear the details! But it will be so nice when we get to hear all about it, and hopefully see a pic,
Lynne x
Oh, bless – I remember that feeling well. I was meant to be the first in my NCT group to have the baby. I ended up second-to-last. So my friend and I used to have these “it’s soooo not fair, WHERE are our babies?” conversations… But honestly, even though the waiting is hard, you’ll get there.
And it’s a LOVELY pic of you, btw, all round and blooming.
So it is safe to visit tomorrow?? I will call before I set off… just in case
LOL! I didn’t realize due date had already come and gone. Hope you’re not getting too uncomfortable.

Yes, I was thinking that you still had a few weeks to go, too. Hope the baby arrives soon!
I’m probably good for a few hits a day checking in *g* Hopefully you won’t go too far past your due date!
I think you’re just holding out for more casseroles
Thinking of you, sweetie – take care. And say Hi to your real Mum from the Cyber one
Still looking good with child. Fingers crossed that junior doesn’t take too long to make his appearance now.
How exciting Julie…. Could be anytime now!
It is SO, So exciting waiting for your first baby to be born. I could happily live those days over and over again.
I hope you have a really lovely and safe birth and can’t wait to read about your feelings once you cross over into the wonderful, bewildering world of motherhood.
Becky
Hi Jan, thanks!
Jude and Lis, you can visit as much as you like. I’m trying to get to 100,000 hits before the baby comes. I need about 1300 more. Click away!
Hi Kristen and welcome to my blog. I had such a brilliant time with the MWP. You guys were great.
Sue, LOL at sharing your birthday with your daughter!
Lynne, it might get more and more exciting each day for you… I’m beginning to get a little bored.
Kate, I bet you’re not used to being last in most things!
Bids, of course. You need to come and project manage the baby into getting here.
Thanks, Laura and Jess and Julie… I think due dates are a technique for torturing pregnant women.
Kate, I’m keeping track of all these casseroles. I’ll say hi to my mum from you.
Becky, do you want to come over here and do the waiting for me, and I’ll take over once the baby’s born?
We’re just stalking you to see if you’re okay.
Hang in there!
Your life does feel on hold while you wait, but I’m a big believer in fate. Baby will appear at exactly the right moment (whether that suits you or not, will be totally irrelevant to him!) Best wishes, take care.
Both mine were slightly late. We’re all just checking in to see how you’re doing!
Hugs to you – and yes, I have long arms….:-)
Donna
I probably add a couple of hits a day
Waiting for babies is uniquely exciting yet boring all at the same time – especially if you’re the one carrying it! All mine were late – with my second I told people I was due 7 days after the date the hospital gave me just to stop the ‘haven’t you had it yets’
Have noticed there’s no blog entry for today yet – so shall no doubt add a few more hits checking back again later.
Thinking of you, dearest! And hoping all is going well…
Yep, I’m adding a couple of hits a day as I stalk the baby – v exciting! Hope you’re doing ok – so lovely to have your Mum there too
Good luck!
Can’t keep away, Julie. Keep logging on to see whether the population has exploded yet.
Keep taking the chocolate! And maybe a little mariachi music might give him the idea to get moving?
love
Jenny
Julie you are the sexiest pregnant lady on the ‘net.
I was 5 days late with my first, Julie and the waiting is really, really hard!
Had a nap one afternoon, woke around 5, stood up and my waters broke. That was it. Action stations!!!
Can’t wait to hear the news!
Kris WW, that is a great idea to tell people your due date is later than it really is. Too late for me, alas…but then again I’m enjoying people checking up on me. I’m such a drama queen.
Thanks Michelle, Carol, Donna Of The Long Arms, Kris, and Natalie.
Jenny, mariachi music would give ME the motivation to get moving, as far away as possible!
Karen, I’m now hoping that “sexiest pregnant lady on the net” will come up with this blog on a Google search.
Nic, now I’ll fantasize about that–a nap and then suddenly whoosh! Hope you are feeling better.
