Well, thanks to the very kind people at BBC Radio Berkshire who rocked him and cooed over him, The Boy managed not to wail for the ten minutes or so I was on the Henry Kelly programme. It all went very well, I think, and the cool part is that I’ve been asked to come back once a month to talk about a couple books I’ve read.
Which gives me a good excuse to read lots of books, and will be a great experience for me!
We’re off for a large hot chocolate with a bit of extra chocolate on the side to celebrate…

Laura, that interview was done last year with a whole other section of Radio Berkshire, via email. The interviewer actually asked some derogatory questions about romance (you can see the one about “hackneyed” plots) which I had to think carefully before I answered. He edited his questions before publication, maybe because he thought better of them–he was a very nice guy and I don’t think he meant to insult the genre, he just wasn’t a romance fan.
It’s something that happens a lot. You sort of have to practise your answers.
