contest finalists

Well there were twenty-nine awesome entries for my six-word novel competition, and after much deliberation, I’ve narrowed it down to (appropriately) six.

Here are the six finalists. Two romance, two thrillers, one women’s fiction, and one…well, I’m not sure–science fiction chick lit?

1. Sheikh wins bachelorette auction, ‘prize’ absconds.
Valerie Parv

2. Kiss gone astray, hell to pay.
Michelle Styles

3. We thought the gun wasn’t loaded.
Mary Beth

4. One gun, two shots, three dead.
Marcy

5. After she died, he came alive.
Rebecca James

6. My husband is invisible. No, really.
Ruth

Hmmm. I’m going to have trouble deciding between these. What’s your vote?

Put the number of your choice below, and I’ll tally up the votes and cast my own, and announce the winner on Tuesday.

PS At this very moment, All Work and No Play… is number 11 on the bestselling Mills & Boon list on Amazon.co.uk. What, me, obsessive?? ;-)

  7. I need more votes! Come on people, don’t make me decide something for myself–I’m a young mother doing revisions and I have NO BRAIN!!!

Thanks for voting, guys, and Marcy, I see nothing wrong with standing behind your own work. ;-)

  8. I like number five (Rebecca James) best — that’s where my vote goes.

YAY on “All Work and No Play”! I ordered my copy direct from M&B. And by the way, I finally got around to reading “Driving Him Wild” last week. Julie, I absolutely LOVED it. Your best yet, IMO. :) :)

  9. I’m itching with curiosity to know more about No 6: “My husband is invisible. No, really.” Who is she talking to? Why? Does she think she is telling the truth? Creepy and compulsive. So that gets my vote.
