Do I work, or do I nap? Do I work, or do I nap? Do I work, or do I nap?
I write humorous, emotional romantic novels for Headline.
This blog is about my writing challenges. Occasionally I also talk about good-looking men.

Here are some of my most popular posts about writing and being published.
Lol. Poor you, I can totally relate. It’s a toughie.
And the nap keeps winning for me, which is probs why my productivity is so pants! But any sleep is just so goooood.

I hear ya… I hear ya!!
Um, work, because then, when you keel over in sheer exhaustion, the problem you were looking at in the book will have resolved itself in your head while you napped.
(I find it necessary to make these idealistic statements from time to time)
I napped.
I was up till 11 last night revising, and then Fecklet was up for the day at 5.
I’ll work tonight.
Julie– I think you made the right choice given the circumstances.
I always go for the nap!
Your post reminded me of the Colonel and the Commander in “33″ – the BSG episode where they are on watch for 5 days straight.
The commander says, “Is this your 10 minutes or is it mine?”
The colonel says “Yours.”
Afterwards, someone calls him on it and he says, “The old man’s so tired he doesn’t even know it’s his 10 minutes.”
So my vote is alternate.
I know. Not very helpful.
Alternate the two! I know how you feel, BTW. When Frog naps I think “Clean kitchen and sort washing?” or “Sit down with cup of tea and put feet up?” I try to rush through the housework stuff so I get fifteen minutes at the end for a power-rest.
my first never had nap and would happliy stay up till midnight then be up at 4am and start all over again. When she is a teenager…she will pay for it!
I didn’t work or nap today, but finished reading, One Night Stand. Loved it so much. Thanks.
I really did make the right choice, because Fecklet was up for most of the middle of last night and then didn’t nap much today. If not for that nap I would be even more dead on my feet today.
Donna, I think you can find the answers to most of life’s dilemmas in Battlestar Galactica somewhere or other. Especially the ones about blowing away Cylons.
Jess, I NEVER do housework when Fecklet is asleep. He lets me do housework (or the little that I do, anyway) when he’s awake, and likes to pretend to help. I run to my computer as soon as he’s asleep and write, no matter the state of my house.
Fran…that makes me tired just to think about it. And I’m complaining about one broken night. *slaps self* Silly Julie.
Yay Debs! Thank you for letting me know, that cheers up a difficult day, a lot.
You see, when I had this dilemma with the puppy I would just put her in her crate. Apparently it’s frowned upon to do that with toddlers, though.
No, I think crating my toddler could be a problem, Kate.
Though I’ll keep it in mind for when my husband gets troublesome.
Julie when baby sleep goes haywire I always tell myself it’s a phase and do all I can to cope with it. Napping is a favorite, so is eating chocolate to give me the energy I need when awake. Glasses of wine which make me tired early always help make the most of limited sleep potential as well.
Nap, definitely nap, and don’t feel guilty about any other bad habits either.
