Ooh ooh ooh I think I might be suffering with too much excitement because here I am in Maryland at my dear friend Kathy Love’s house, and later today I’ll be going to Washington DC for the Romance Writers of America conference. Not only is this like the biggest romance writers’ convention in like the entire like world, it’s also time spent being a writer and not just being a mummy! I love love love being a mummy but it’s so exciting just to be me for a few days. Me surrounded by squillions of romance writers and lots and lots of friends.
Kathy and I were up till 2 am talking but the Fecklet has trained me so well that I was awake at 6 am on the dot expecting him to be awake and wanting breakfast. And of course haven’t been able to get back to sleep because I’m so excited.
Tonight is the big literacy book signing and I’m hoping that my copies of Girl from Mars and Honey Trap arrive. The brilliant people at Headline have arranged to have them delivered to the hotel, but I’m wary of the efficiency of the postal system. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. If they don’t arrive I’ll be signing the four copies I brought with me in my bag.
Anyway I think I’m going to celebrate my week of being-me by having Doritos for breakfast.
