Today is clear and cold here, with bright blue skies and frost rimming the grass and the tops of fences. There are little shards of ice across all the puddles and steam puffed out of my mouth as I took the Fecklet to his child minder. It almost makes up for the several days of miserable slanting rain.

And I am a free woman! No work to do (or none that I can’t ignore). I’m going Christmas shopping!

Hurrah!

  1. I think you’re the only person I know who says the words “Christmas Shopping” and “Hurrah”. Are you feeling okay?

  2. Now then how long before you get that itch for writing again…?

  3. Lacey, do you have kids? Instead of working during my child care hours, I get to Christmas shop without a toddler. It feels like a reprieve, and almost sinful.

Jan, I’m starting to think about my research for the next one already. But I will have the rest of this month off.
